Amiri Baraka

Amiri Baraka

Koritha Mitchell and I discussed Amiri Baraka’s play, Dutchman, his  most widely known dramatic work.  The Dutchman looks at race through the eyes of a thirty year-old white woman and a twenty year-old Black man who meet on a subway train in New York. Baraka won an Obie Award for Dutchman being the best off Broadway play of 1964. To listen to our discussion click here: Koritha-Amiri Baraka.
