Beth Tompkins Bate discussed the role of Henry Ford in opening up the door of equal employment opportunities for Blacks after World War 1 in my interview with her last month.  While a triumph initially, Black Detroit’s growing independence and failure to to support Ford’s labor practices and political candidates ultimately closed the door to this gain.  To listen to this interview click here: Beth Tompkins Bates Interview
