Mystery Writers of America and Edgar Awards Topic on KAZI Book Review March 25

Larry Light will discuss the history of the Mystery Writers of America (MWA) and the upcoming 2012 Edgar Allen Poe Awards on KAZI Book Review (KBR) on March 25, 12:30 p.m. – 1 p.m. central time on KAZI 88.7 FM in Austin, Texas.  Light, who will be the second guest on KBR, will come on at approximately  12:45 p.m. Listen live online at kazifm.org.

MWA is an organization for mystery and crime writers, professionals allied to the crime writing field, aspiring crime writers, and folks who just love to read crime fiction. On April 26 MWA will be presenting the 2012 Edgar Allan Poe Awards, honoring the best in mystery fiction, nonfiction and television published or produced in 2011. KAZI Book Review will be broadcasting interviews with several of the Edgar Award nominees beginning April 1.  The authors that will be featured are:

  • Ace Atkins, The Ranger (Best Novel)
  • David Duffy, Last to Fold (Best First Novel By An American Author)
  • Leonard Rosen, All Cry Chaos (Best First Novel By An American Author)
  • Steve Ulfelder, Purgatory Chasm (Best First Novel By An American Author)

About the Guest

Larry Light is executive vice president of Mystery Writers of America. He most recently was the author of Taming The Beast (2011, John Wiley & Sons), a nonfiction book about the history of investing styles. He also has written three mysteries and several short stories. A long-time financial journalist who has won many awards, Larry is the editor-in-chief of AdviceIQ.com, a new website about investing. Previously, he was investing editor of the Wall Street Journal, and held top positions at Forbes and Business Week.
